Little Squirt

20130730 Fire hydrant face 150x150 Little SquirtSal sent in another picture, or more accurately, she tagged me in one on Facebook.  The caption read, “Vic, [I] went to Southend on sea and this little squirt was in the arcades!!! It’s a fire hydrant!!!!”

That’s the most colourful and high tech fire hydrant I have ever seen.  It’s a very good spot.  Many thanks Sal!

G’day Mate

20130629 Fosters Lager Ad Face 150x150 Gday MateJen sent in another picture, this time taken from the Foster’s lager advert.  She writes:

"G'day mate.

Now Vic, I don't know if this is good enough for you but I photographed this off of 4OD. It's the Fosters lager advert.

I can see a little face in the tube thing by the man in the blue and red t-shirt.

Can you see it? Also, if you can see it, can u turn the photo around? I can't bloody do it!!

So slap it on the barbie, Sheila!"

Actually, if you look to the far left of the picture you can see another face... I can, anyway...

Heras Fence Post Base

20130629 Heras Fence Post Base Face 150x150 Heras Fence Post BaseJennie sent in another face – ages ago…  I had some problems installing the image manipulation software on the man’s computer following a system reinstall.  Anyway, here’s a picture of a Heras fence post base.  Jen wrote:
“Here we have a distressed concrete face. The reason for this could be:

A: He’s got 2 metal poles shoved straight through him.

B: He’s just been branded with an ‘X’ between the eyes.

C: I am standing on him.

Who knows? And to be honest I don’t really care. As long as I got a good face to put on iseefaces.

Tar Vic”

Great spot! Thanks very much Jen!

Weight Loss: Eat More, Weigh Less

20130529 Door Handle Face 150x150 Weight Loss: Eat More, Weigh LessSal sent in this picture.  She wrote the following:

“Vic, don’t you think this looks like the talking door handle out of the Disney cartoon Alice in Wonderland? I hope you’ve seen it. Maybe the man has???”

I haven’t seen it but I understand it is about a girl who eats so much food she grows small…  or something.  That’s how Vaxian metabolism works, anyway.  The less you eat the fatter you get.  For example, I’ll start eating five of the man’s cinnamon swirls, then I’ll eat four, then three, then two and then I’ll finish the evening with just a single cinnamon swirl.  And then my suckerbag feels like it’s about to explode… Thanks Sal!!

A Letter to Pizza Hut

20130527 Sundae ice cream face 150x150 A Letter to Pizza Hut

Jen was out with Aaron and her 8-year-old nephew Josh, who spotted a face in an ice cream sundae on a menu at a well-known pizza chain… okay, it was Pizza Hut.  (Dear Pizza Hut, you now owe us a lot of money for free advertising.  Regards, Vic.)   Josh wrote in and said:

“Hello I saw an ice cream face in Pizza Hut and it tastes nice. I am with auntie Jennie and Aaron because we just watched Epic at the cinema.   I hope you like the face.

From
Joshu”

Joshua, that’s a great spot!  You are our youngest spotter to date.  Keep them coming. 🙂

Vehicle Face

20120917 Little Vehicle Face 150x150 Vehicle FaceJennie sent me an email saying that one of her friends had seen her mention my website (and me, Vic) on Facebook.  Jen writes:

“Vic. This was spotted by a friend: Gary, who is not one of your Facebook friends but obviously hears me talking about you and iseefaces, as out of the blue he sent me this photo.

Make of it what you will.”

I think it’s great! It’s a little vehicle of some description – maybe a forklift truck or something you might find on a construction site.  The man would know; he’s a Structural Engineer.  Thanks very much Jen.  You are now our unofficial London correspondent!

Where’s Wally?

On Tuesday a fine human female – or so I understand; humans disgust me (especially the editor) – called Emily sent me an email with a couple of photographs attached.  Emily (the Vaxian equivalent of which is Q’ahmahx) is a Bristol-based food blogger and runs the very successful Bristol Bites website.  As I understand it, Em was out hunting wild boar, catching salmon and gathering pots of Onken yoghurt in the Yeo Valley earlier in the week (okay, that’s all lies apart from the Yeo Valley bit) and somehow ended up with the mahusive bowl of salad shown below.

20120531 Salad Bowl 1024x682 Wheres Wally?

In her email she challenged me to spend some time looking at the photograph to see whether I could spot the face – a bit like Where’s Wally? (or Where’s Waldo? if you’re American or Canadian) or the alternative popular book Where’s Bin Laden?  The latter comes with a very cool Fresnel magnifying glass.

Despite clear instructions in the email, the editor failed (EPIC FAIL!) and scrolled straight down to the second photograph revealing the answer.  It’s a bit like when you tell someone, “Don’t look at that man over there with the big nose and orange toupée …”  In the editor’s defence the answer was kind of given away in the instructions.  But the editor is still a tosser.  Where’s Wally?  There’s the wally…

So, take a couple of minutes and see if you can spot the face.  Then scroll down.  I’ll go and raid the editor’s fridge whilst you do that.  If you stare long enough you’ll see it in 3D…

…not really…

Ready? Now scroll down for the reveal.

[keep scrolling]

…and here it is. Très cool, n’est-ce pas?  [Cue: Ja, for shure!].  Many thanks Emilyna! 😉

Say Cheese!

20120403 Kiev Cheese Sandwich Lunch Face 150x150 Say Cheese!Hello, it’s Vic here. The editor has been a bit busy (read: lazy) lately, what with starting a new job and all that. He’s not going to be writing any lengthy articles for the time being, so you’ll have to put up with me.

This face was sent in by _usha_ from Kiev, Ukraine.  It’s a very good one – very cheesy and all that.  I wonder if that’s its photo face…

I See Faces and so does Greg James

20120211 Crying Baboon Face Bathroom Door 150x150 I See Faces and so does Greg James

Dan from Cornwall sent in a picture of his bathroom door, showing a face of a crying baboon.  It’s a beauty and the story behind it is equally intriguing and totally insane, you wouldn’t believe it.

On Tuesday last week I was on my way from Bristol to Cornwall on business, passing through Hayle.  Sometime earlier in the day I had noticed an email notification come up on my phone as I was driving.  The sender was Dan and the email subject read “Crying Baboon”.  I thought it was a friend of mine sending me a funny link – you know, the chain emails that get send round – and thought nothing of it.

As I entered Hayle from the north I noticed a few shops and some of the names registered as I drove along the waterfront and reminisced about a holiday in Hayle a couple of years ago.

Anyone familiar with the town will know the car park adjacent the old railway viaduct near the old castle – the site of a former gas works, I believe.  I parked up to devour my home-made dietetic lunch of gluten-free Edam and pickle sandwiches before continuing my journey.

Greg James

Later that day when I got home I had a good look at the email on my laptop and noticed that the email address contained the name of a shop.  Not just any shop – it was one that I had noticed driving through Hayle earlier.

It transpired that Dan was based in Hayle, I had probably driven past him twice earlier in the day and he had been listening to Greg James on Radio 1.  I had never heard of Greg James, as I haven’t listened to Radio 1 for over a decade but he was running a feature on spotting faces in object.  On checking my web stats I noticed a huge spike in traffic and a doubling of baseline traffic all week.

Do you see faces?

So, it seems I have been piggybacking on a surge of people searching for the term “I See Faces” on Google.  Vic Suckerbag is exteremely happy.  If you have seen faces in objects, send them in and I will post them on here.

Happy snapping!

Busy bee…

Multi coloured smiling bins 150x150 Busy bee...Hello!  Just a quick note to say I’m incredibly busy at the moment but should have time to write another proper article over the weekend and then normal service should resume!

Busy busy busy, stress stress stress…  This picture was submitted by a reader by the name of Lucy.  She tells me she read the article about the pink bin and came across a whole family of them in a shop.  She apparently made the effort to line them all up with their faces pointing towards the camera.  Now that’s dedication.

I sometimes read horoscopes for fun – mainly in abandoned free newspapers on the train.  They are entertaining and contradictory from one astrologer to the next, but according to one I read today my healing colours are pink and green… whatever that means.  If you have a picture you’d like to send me, please do!  It would be nice to get some more interactivity going.

I wish you all a good few days and hope to see you soon.  In the meantime, please check through some of my older articles or join me on Facebook!
